Gareth Morgan is the Director of Congenital Interventional Cardiology for the University of Colorado; spanning the Children's Hospital of Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital.
After receiving his medical degree from the Queen's University of Belfast, Ireland, Prof Morgan completed his training in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology in Ireland and then his senior training in the UK at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children as well as Adult Congenital Heart Disease training at the Bristol Royal Infirmary . He completed his advanced fellowship in pediatric and adult congenital cardiology as well as advanced training in congenital interventional cardiology at The Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto General Hospital between 2008 and 2010. After spending 6 yrs in the UK as an Consultant in Interventional Congenital Cardiology where he was a training program director for pediatric cardiology in Bristol and London; Prof Morgan was recruited from Guys and St Thomas' NHS Trust and the Evelina London Children's Hospital to his position in Denver. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2022.
Prof Morgan has broad expertise in the use of minimally invasive procedures to treat patients with congenital heart disease. He has special interests in device development and has several patents and patents pending. He has been a local and national PI on many device studies and has an interest in Mesopotamian pottery and correcting other people's grammar.
